“EVERY CAKE HAS A STORY TO TELL, AND I HAVE BEEN VERY LUCKY TO FIND MYSELF IN THE POSITION WHERE I CAN CAPTURE STORIES OF MY CUSTOMERS IN A BEAUTIFUL CAKE AND ENLIGHTEN THEIR MEMORABLE EVENTS!”

Tatiana Kovalenko

Skazka Cakes was founded by Tatiana Kovalenko whose talent, skill, experience, and passion brought this business to life with the goal of offering top of the line, elegantly beautiful and delicious specialty cakes to the local community.  With over 20 years of experience in the industry as a master cake decorator and a passionate baker, Tatiana has had an opportunity to bring meaningful delight to many people’s special occasions and celebrations, as well as deliver to the cravings of those passionate about specialty desserts.

She started her career at Palermo’s Bakery in New Jersey.  There she had her opportunity to learn and master the art of cake decorating, grow this family-owned business together with its owners Joan and Jerry, their children, and a team of wonderful professionals for two decades.  Tatiana became a part of their hard-working family.   Eventually she naturally graduated to a management position and further continued growing their cake decorating department to the next level, with higher demand placed on their rapidly growing highly successful business.  While working at Palermo’s, Tatiana also had an opportunity to work on cakes for famous people - from a first lady to Hollywood stars and singers.

Tatiana believes that there is no limit to growing her professional career and mastering new techniques.  She continuously enriches her portfolio of knowledge and expertise by learning from the top leaders in the industry, such as: Mike McCarey, Karen Portaleo, Kathleen Lange, Nicholas Lodge.
